It's a pleasure to watch Solaris gait all over the pasture (except when we have a camera, of course.)  An excellent stud prospect, Solaris was  born in May, 2005.  He has impeccable bloodlines with Southern Sunrise on both the top and on the bottom.  He also has Duke's Cast Iron Willy and Zane Grey on the bottom and Super Sunrise and Missouri Traveler E. on the top.  Solaris was imprinted at birth and has been handled extensively since.  Shy at first, he warms up rapidly and likes to be with his "humans".  Like Jazz, his dam is our mare Sunrise's Cast Iron Shadow.

Solaris was sent to Jeff Spencer for two weeks of training last spring.  He was "ponied" on the trails around the Spencer's facility and was trained to take a light saddle with a load.  Solaris loves to help around the corral by carrying bags of oats to the barn.
